Four generations of Michigan farming, now flying
Precision Drone LLC grew out of a family farm in Michigan's Thumb, not out of a tech incubator. We built the operation we wished existed when our own fields were too wet, too irregular, or too close to the neighbors for conventional application.
It started on heavy clay near Deford
Our family has worked this ground since the early 1900s. Four generations later, the fundamentals have not changed: the weather does not negotiate, the crop does not wait, and the difference between a good year and an average one is often a five-day window somebody had to be ready for.
What has changed is the equipment. When we watched a custom applicator drive past a saturated 300-acre block at tassel, we started researching agricultural drones. One season later we were flying our own fields. The season after that, neighbors were asking. Precision Drone LLC is what happened next.
Today we operate a DJI AGRAS T50 and T40 for spraying and spreading and a Mavic 3 Multispectral for mapping and crop health analysis, serving row crop growers, orchards, organic vegetable operations, townships, and conservation groups across Michigan's Thumb and surrounding counties.
We still farm. That is not a marketing line — it is the reason we understand why the timing on your fungicide pass is not flexible, and why the buffer next to your neighbor's organic block matters.
